What types of visas are available for living in Ecuador?

Ecuador offers several visa options, including retirement visas, investor visas, work visas, student visas,  nomad visa and professional residency visas. Each has different requirements, and we’ll help you find the one that fits your situation best.

Can I apply for a visa while I’m still in my home country?

Yes, you can begin the visa process from abroad through an Ecuadorian consulate. However, many people choose to start or complete the process after arriving in Ecuador with a tourist visa. We can assist you in either case.

How much money do I need to qualify for a visa?

It depends on the visa type. For example, retirement visas require proof of stable monthly income of $1,410USD (like a pension), and investor visas require a minimum investment of $47,000 USD. We’ll guide you through the financial requirements based on your visa choice.

How long does the visa process take?

Processing times vary, but on average, it takes about 4 to 8 weeks once all documents are submitted. We’ll work with you to make sure everything is accurate and submitted on time.

Can I work or open a business in Ecuador with a residency visa?

Yes, most residency visas allow you to work, start a business, or invest. We’ll help you understand what’s allowed under your specific visa and assist with any legal steps to start working or launching a business.
